Celebrating the Life Of Frances Jean Sanders
Frances Jean was born June 22, 1951, to Oliver T. and Frankie in Nacogdoches, TX. They later moved to Houston, where she graduated from Kashmere High School and Oakwood University, a private Seventh-day Adventist University. While there, she met and married Earl Morton. From this union, one son, Christopher (who preceded her in death), was born. Frances was an entrepreneur; she had her own tax service and beautician salon. She was the second daughter Johnnie Mae White -sister and three brothers in the family: Oliver T., Anthony Kirk (preceded her in death), and Cedric. Jean was an avid horsewoman; she rode “Ace” until his death. Trail riding was her favorite hobby and embroidery. She rode with Sugar Shack Trail Blazers out of Fresno, TX, and Luftex from Lufkin, Texas. Frances Jean loved her nephew Ray Mayo so much she traveled with him for years, driving his horses from track to track as the “Top Jock Racing Team”. Ray Jr. and Zachary were her pride and joy, “My Boys” as she lovingly called them. Jean leaves to cherish her memories her grandson Christopher Morton, brothers Oliver T. Jr. and Cedric, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
